FOUNDERS BELIEFS

WE ARE A REPUBLIC not a democracy on purpose, mainly to protect us form the whims of the masses. We need to repeal the 17th amendment.

The emphasis on democracy in our modern political discourse has no historical or constitutional basis.  Yet we have become obsessed with democracy, as though any government action would be permissible if a majority of voters simply approved of it.  Democracy has become a sacred cow, a deity which no one dares question.  Democracy, we are told, is always good.  But the founders created a constitutionally limited republic precisely to protect fundamental liberties from the whims of the masses, to guard against the excesses of democracy.**Hands off of the Electoral College**

Rights are from God and man cannot take them away.

Rights are not material things that man must provide to man.

>We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Governments role is to protect rights, not to provide material things or social safety nets.

The founders built the Constitution on Christian principles (1) found in the Bible that they held dear and deeply believed in. They also realized that not all people believed as they did and had the right form God to do so.

The founders also new that charity is not the role of Government and the out come of any charity must be calculated so as to lift the person out of the situation they are in rather than remain there comfortably forever at the expense of others.
