The threat to the mother is a concern, but has never ended tragically or in an a “abort or die” situation in modern medicine thus making "abort or die" a non issue. ( Rod has lived this one)

The condition of the baby (downs syndrome trisomy 18 etc) is not a reason to have an abortion. If a mother is told that her child is not perfectly healthy then abortion is not an option unless having that baby would kill the mother, which has never been a issue in modern medicine. If it did to actually came down to an "abort or die" situation then it would be the mothers decision because it is truly HER body HER choice.

I would not support a law that said to save the child no matter what happens to the mother.

What about a woman that is raped?

One must also ask that if a man is raped by a woman can he force her to have an abortion or at least NOT pay child support? What if he wants custody? What happens to the baby if she even goes to jail? Can a rapist have visitation rights?
The baby did NOT choose their parents.

Abortion is about the baby's right to live, NOT the woman's right to choose.
